Drake - Energy
Drakes music video energy hits the public as controversial. This is because of the running list made of pop culture icons spoofed by Drake in his brilliant video. He included icons such as Barack Obama, Miley Cyrus, O.J. Simpson, Floyd Mayweather, Queen Elizabeth, Oprah, Lebron James and etc. Drake used a series of expertly done sight gags mixed with black and white shots of Drake and his crew holding court. He uses portrays the iconic figures as transmogrified Drake clones, bearing his hairstyle and face. Politicians, musicians, athletes even dead presidents. Drake spared no one a turn at the Drizzy impersonation factory. Fortunately each shot is so ridiculous that there couldn't possibly be cause for offense. It seems like the top Rapper was using the Music Video to make a statement, that he runs celebrity culture or possibly just having as much fun as he can, just because he can. The Video is creative, self-aware and professionally made. It was definitely one of the Top 5 music videos of the year. As funny as the video was it still showed iconic values of normal Rap music videos. This is portrayed with Drakes performing within the video surrounded by his gang/crew. It also show parts of the suburban ghetto.
The video uses eye level shots, and mid shots to portray Drake and his crew as well as impersonators.
